By: E&P Staff WoodWing Software in Zaandam, The Netherlands, and Detroit, announced that all its products will be fully compatible with Adobe Systems' new Creative Suite 4.
Citing InDesign's ability now to directly export to Flash, and the channel-specific text in InCopy, WoodWing President Erik Schut said in a statement that CS4's complement of new features and improvements "meshes perfectly with WoodWing's philosophy of 'blended media,' the convergence between print and online."
Schut added: "After eight years of developing Smart plug-ins, we're delighted to see new features such as Smart Guides, Smart Dimensions and Smart Text Reflow." Live Preflight, he said, will improve efficiency, "with on-the-fly alerts about potential production problems."
WoodWing's first product for CS4 is its Smart Styles efficiency plug-in for InDesign. A beta release is at labs.woodwing.com. More beta releases are planned, with the first CS4-compatible products shipping before the end of the year.
