WoodWing Software, Zaandam, The Netherlands, and Detroit, has released Content Station 7.1, which supports the Digital Magazine Tools for iPad, allows third-party developers to create plug-ins for Content Station, and contains other new features and improvements for efficient cross-media publishing.
Part of WoodWing's Enterprise cross-media publishing system, Content Station is designed to help create, edit, manage and publish all types of files, regardless of their destination.
Third-party vendors can now create plug-ins for Content Station, adding functionality within the same user interface and eliminating the need to swap applications.
When content is published to print, online or mobile channels, the publishing dialog shown can now be tailored for the specific channel. For example, dialog for publishing to a Drupal Website can now include a 'Promote to front page" checkbox.
Several small usability enhancements now save small bits of time throughout the day. These include setting a new status on multiple objects, like images and articles, in one step. Other improvements are aimed at offering the easiest environment to create and publish cross-media content.
As part of WoodWing´s Digital Magazine Tools for iPad, the new version allows publishers to manage content of a digital magazine, define story order, and package the content for publication.
