By: E&P Staff The Omaha (Neb.) World-Herald Co. subsidiary Midland Newspapers Inc. has bought the 3,000-circulation evening Boone (Iowa) News from its owner/publisher, Robert Schaub, the companies announced Monday.
No terms of the sale, which closed Friday, were released.
Midlands already owns the Ames (Iowa) Tribune, about 15 miles away from the Boone paper.
The purchase gives Midlands six dailies, plus a part interest in another daily, as well as 23 weeklies in Iowa and Nebraska.
