By: Staff Reports 3-D Day Features Images In Advertising, Editorial
The Toronto Star will launch a 3-D newspaper issue on April 21, Torstar
Media Group announced Monday.
With special glasses distributed through its StarWeek Magazine, the
Star will feature some advertising and editorial in 3-D. Sections
scheduled to carry the new feature include General News, Sports, Life,
Entertainment, Wheels, Travel, Condo Living, and New In Homes sections.
"This is a first for newspapers in Canada," said John Honderich, publisher of
the Star. "We are aware of no others who have produced in 3-D to this
extent before. 3-D Day is a showcase for the Star's innovative people,
cross-functional resources, and state-of-the-art technology."
The paper will also sponsor a 3-D Day contest for readers to vote for their
favorite 3-D ad.
