By: Joe Strupp News organizations meeting in Dallas have agreed to endorse a new format for coding news stories on the Web. The News Industry Text Format received support from a string of news industry leaders during the April 23 meeting, which included representatives of the Newspaper Association of America, International Press Telecommunications Council, and Media Center at the American Press Institute. The new coding will allow easier identification of elements of news stories during online searches and cross-referencing.
