'WSJ' Adds Front Page Column

Posted
By: E&P Staff The Wall Street Journal added a sixth column to its front page this week, more than a year after a major redesign.

The move from a five-column front page gives editors more "design flexibility" while slightly increasing the amount of space dedicated to stories, according to a statement from the Wall Street Journal.

Managing Editor Marcus Brauchli had been thinking about the additional space since he took over in April 2007.

The front-page ad unit has not changed sizes.
