By: Joe Strupp Matt Goldberg, vice president of franchise development and partnerships for the Dow Jones Consumer Media Group, has been named senior vice president of digital strategy and operations for The Wall Street Journal Digital Network, effective immediately, according to a press release.
Goldberg will report to Gordon McLeod, president of The Wall Street Journal Digital Network.
"In this role, Mr. Goldberg assumes operational responsibilities across the network, including general management, strategy and business development, finance, research and analytics, licensing, mobile, video and podcasting initiatives," the release stated.
"The Wall Street Journal Digital Network is experiencing an
unprecedented time of growth and expansion across our properties," McLeod said in a statement. "Matt is a very experienced, strategic thinker who will help take our digital business to the next level. As we continue to innovate across our products and grow our audience, he will help ensure we focus on critical business priorities as well as opportunities to further expand our network."
Goldberg became vice president of franchise development and partnerships for the Dow Jones Consumer Media Group in 2006. In that role, he has overseen development and management of business partnerships, including television, radio, WSJ Office Network, Sunday Journal, content licensing and other initiatives.
Goldberg joined Dow Jones in New York in 2003 as director of market strategies for The Wall Street Journal and was later named executive director of Dow Jones Integrated Solutions, a group he launched in 2004 and led through 2006, the release stated.
Prior to joining Dow Jones, Goldberg held several jobs at Bertelsmann in New York, eventually becoming senior director, U.S. business development. He previously served as director of strategic planning for the Illinois Housing Development Authority in Chicago; campaign officer for the Liberty Party of Australia; and assistant to the Governor of Illinois.
