'WSJ', 'Fine Living' Extend TV Partnership

Posted
By: E&P Staff The editors of The Wall Street Journal's "Weekend" section are getting ready for some more fine living ... with the Fine Living cable TV channel, that is.

The two media outlets on Tuesday announced a significantly expanded programming accord for a regularly scheduled monthly hour-long TV show titled "Weekend Journal" that will make its debut in May. Plans call for the show to become a weekly half-hour offering at the beginning of 2005. The Weekend Journal collaborated with Fine Living on a one-hour special in the fall of 2002.

"The success of our Weekend Journal special clearly demonstrated the tremendous potential for a regular weekly series covering the same informative and entertaining lifestyle topics of wide interests to television viewers," said Joanne Lipman, editor in chief of the Weekend Journal.

The Weekend Journal TV series will offer information and advice from Journal researchers, writers and columnists, and it will include segments on topics such as travel and home improvement.

Fine Living, owned by The E.W. Scripps Co., now is available in more than 19 million homes.
