By: E&P Staff El Sentinel, the weekly Spanish-language newspaper published by Tribune Co.'s Sun-Sentinel Co. in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., begins publishing The Wall Street Journal's Spanish-language section on Saturday, Oct. 23.
The eight-page tabloid section includes translated material from the U.S. Journal as well as it international editions, The Asian Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Journal Europe, The Wall Street Journal Americas, and The Wall Street Journal Sunday.
With the pick up by 95,000-copy free-distribution el Sentinel, the Journal's weekly now appears in the top five U.S. Hispanic markets, the Journal said. The tab is published in the New York, Chicago ,and Los Angeles editions of Tribune's daily newspaper Hoy, plus the Houston, Rio Grande, and San Antonio editions of Meximerica Media's Rumbo daily, as well as the weekly Washington (D.C.) Hispanic.
The Journal said the weekly's guaranteed rate base will grow to 375,000 copies, and it will have a total distribution of more than 450,000.
