By: Staff Reports Seattle Company Provides In-flight Internet Access
The Wall Street Journal has reached the skies with
Tuesday's announcement that Tenzing Communications will provide
the newspaper's content to in-flight customers.
WSJ.com's business stories and Dow Jones financial news will be
available to airline passengers during flights with no additional
subscription fees. Tenzing customers can browse market and equity
information, get updated stock quotes, review business news, or
access company information in preparation for the next business
meeting.
Besides Internet content, Seattle-based Tenzing provides business
travelers with in-flight Internet access, e-mail capabilities,
global roaming, and a frequent traveler services program.
Tenzing has been beta-testing its in-flight service on Air Canada
since September. Beginning next year, the Cathay Pacific Airlines
fleet will carry the service. The Tenzing system is compatible
with PCs, Macs, and personal digital assistants (PDAs).
