WV News has announced it is acquiring the Pomeroy Daily Sentinel and Gallipolis Daily Tribune in Ohio and the Point Pleasant Register in West Virginia from AIM Media Midwest.

“We are committed to being a high-quality news source through our print and digital platforms and see these three publications as an excellent chance to further expand our footprint,” WV News owner and president Brian Jarvis said. “They go nicely with our other recent acquisitions, especially the Jackson County Herald and Star News. We look forward to serving these communities along the Ohio River.”
Jarvis thanked AIM Media Midwest for working with him to make it happen and for their professionalism during the transaction.
“We have long admired Brian Jarvis and the dedication he has demonstrated to supporting local journalism in West Virginia and we believe the addition of these three newspaper publications makes great sense for his continued expansion.” said Jeremy L. Halbreich, chairman & CEO, AIM Media Management.
