By: Mark Fitzgerald State Press Association Meets With Attorney General
Wyoming Attorney General Gay Woodhouse met with a delegation from
the Wyoming Press Association late last week, reversing her
refusal to involve newspapers in her effort to rewrite the Public
Records Act.
An audit by Wyoming newspapers last year found police and
sheriffs refused to comply with the law about half the time. "In
other states, [such audits] stirred up interest in public
records. Here, they want to tighten more," said D. Reed Eckhardt,
editor of the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle in Cheyenne.
