YOUR NIGHTLY VIDEO: Richard and Teddy Thompson Try Some 'Persuasion' -- As Sam Cooke Sings with Muhammad Ali

By: Greg Mitchell Not much of a story behind this one. It's just a unique version of the Richard Thompson rarity, "Persuasion," performed on Scottish TV in 1999 with his son Teddy.

For those not in the know (surely the overwhelming majority): Richard Thompson, ace songwriter and one of the great guitarists of our time, has been a cult and critics' favorite since his days with Fairport Convention in the early 1970s. With his ex-wife Linda, he recorded some classic albums after that, and they also produced young Teddy -- now a tremendous songwriter and singer in his own right with two CDs to his credit.

What can a self-driving car teach news publishers about AI? Quite a lot, according to Guy Tasaka. How Dublin Inquirer uses legal risk assessments to keep accountability journalism moving

When Dublin Inquirer publishes a sensitive accountability story, the challenge isn’t just reporting the facts. It’s deciding whether a small, seven-person newsroom can afford the legal risks that sometimes come with telling the public what it needs to know. For editor and co-founder Sam Tranum and deputy editor Lois Kapila, those decisions once came down to late-night conversations and educated guesswork. Today, the independent Dublin newsroom relies on Reporters Shield’s Legal Risk Assessment service to help identify potential legal vulnerabilities before publication—allowing journalists to move forward with greater confidence while keeping important stories alive.
