By: E&P Staff The Lee Enterprises-owned Elko (Nev.) Daily Free Press has named Rhonda Zuraff the newspaper's new publisher. She begins her duties in mid-March.

Zuraff, a nationally honored circulation and marketing manager, is currently circulation and production manager for the Missoulian and the Ravalli Republic, Lee newspapers in Missoula and Hamilton, Mont., according to the Daily Free Press.

The Newspaper Association of America honored her in 2001 as Circulation Sales Executive of the Year while she was the circulation manager of the Southern Illinoisan in Carbondale.

"Rhonda Zuraff has been a successful circulation, production and marketing manager at three Lee newspapers," said Stephen Hartgen, regional publisher for Lee. "She's a natural leader, an excellent communicator, and a dedicated, focused newspaper manager with a proven track record. She's familiar with smaller Western communities, including northern Nevada, and will be an excellent publisher for both the Elko Daily Free Press and the Elko community."

Lee Enterprises acquired the Elko Daily Free Press on Feb. 4 from Liberty Group Publishing. Former publisher Jerry Pye chose to remain with Liberty.
