ACM Purchases 11 Pubs from Brown Publishing

By: E&P Staff American Consolidated Media (ACM) has agreed to buy some assets of the Brown Publishing Co. The transaction includes 11 local publications including three dailies in Athens, Circleville, and Logan, Ohio.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brown is based in Blue Ash, Ohio and will continue to operate 16 daily and 60 weekly and niche publications.

"Roy Brown and his associates at Brown have provided a consistently high quality of service and value to the readers and advertisers throughout the state of Ohio in a tradition dating back to 1920," Jeremy Halbreich, chairman, president and CEO of ACM, said in a statement.

Dallas based ACM also announced this week it had agreed to purchase Chesapeake Publishing.
