Advance Internet Joins King Features Online Network

By: E&P Staff King Features Syndicate announced Tuesday that Advance Internet has joined King's online entertainment network.

The syndicate's "Comics Kingdom" online portfolio of comics and its "Puzzles Package" of crosswords, logic puzzles and word games will be featured on 11 of Advance Internet's Web sites, including NJ.com, MLive.com, al.com, cleveland.com, NOLA.com, OregonLive.com, syracuse.com, MassLive.com, PennLive.com, lehighvalleylive.com and SILive.com.

"We are excited to launch Comics Kingdom and King?s Puzzles Package on our sites," Peter Weinberger, Advance Internet's president, said in a statement. "We believe the wealth of content will bring new users to our sites. King Features has been working very closely with us to promote the new services, which helps us build and retain our audience."

The Advance Internet sites, which are affiliated with Advance-owned newspapers including The Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J., The Times-Picayune of New Orleans, and The Plain Dealer of Cleveland, join other online divisions who have partnered with King Features, including the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Denver Post and the San Francisco Chronicle.

Since the launch of Comics Kingdom in 2008, 50 newspapers have partnered with King Features to present their content, according to the syndicate.
