Agfa Releases Apogee 7 Workflow Management Suite

Agfa Graphics, Ridgefield Park, N.J., has released Apogee 7, the new version of its workflow-management suite, which it will demonstrate at Graph Expo, Oct. 3-6, in Chicago.

The newest version includes the Apogee Impose imposition module that relies on live job information rather than templates. Apogee 7 also allows print buyers to go beyond the Web-to-print screen to create new jobs in the prepress stage with WebApproval.

The suite's earlier-announced Apogee Portal 7 for file uploading, preflighting and softproofing adds functionality for user convenience and automation.

Other tools in Apogee 7 include Apogee Prepress, a full JDF-enabled prepress production hub that provides increased levels of automation, Apogee InkSave for greater ink efficiency and savings, and Apogee Platemaker to monitor and control platesetters for continuous production.
