Albany 'Times Union' Grows Readership

By: E&P Staff The Times Union of Albany, N.Y., increased its combined print and online audience by 9%, according to data filed with the Audit Bureau of Circulations for the six months ending September 2008.

The paper announced it is in the top 10 on of all U.S. dailies for readership growth.

"We committed ourselves to increasing our customer base in print and online during the past three years at a time when most media companies began cutting back and focusing exclusively online," Mark Aldam, Times Union publisher, said in a statement.

Additionally, the paper grew its Saturday print circulation -- up 1.1%. Sunday was up slightly, a fraction of a percent to 143,261 copies.

Monday-through-Friday circulation declined 7.4%, to 83,496 copies.
