American Community Newspapers Acquires Amendment One

By: E&P Staff American Community Newspapers has acquired Amendment One, publisher of Leesburg Today, Loudoun Magazine, and Loudoun Business. Terms of the deal, brokered by W.B. Grimes & Co., were not disclosed.

The publications reach about 100,000 households in Loudoun County, Va.

"Leesburg Today and its related publications are well established, landmark publications that have proudly served the growing communities of Leesburg and the surrounding Loudoun County area since 1988," Gene M. Carr, CEO of American Community Newspapers, said in a statement. "These newspapers are a strategic addition to our presence in the high growth and high demographic Northern Virginia market."

American Community Newspapers publishes three daily and 60 weekly newspapers in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn., Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas, and Northern Virginia.
