By: E&P Staff Atex has announced that its content-management solutions now support the bidirectional language and character set of the Hebrew and Arabic alphabets. Israel's largest Hebrew-language newspaper, Yedioth Ahoronoth, is the first customer to adopt the new solution.
Atex is providing Yedioth Ahoronoth with right-to-left orientation, as well as Hebrew file names and the local Hebrew calendar. "The new system, designed around Atex's multimedia database technology, is to be used by hundreds of journalists and production staff, and supports Yedioth's entire media print operation," according to Atex.
The solution also provides integration with other systems, including a bidirectional link to a CTP system, a digital asset-management system and a link to Yedioth's own advertising system.
