'Boston Globe' Promotes Two Ad Executives

By: E&P Staff The Boston Globe announced on Wednesday the promotions of Lauren Chacon and Lisa DeSisto.

Chacon, currently the Globe's director of general advertising, has been named vice president, advertising for the national and retail categories. DeSisto, currently vice president and general manager of Boston.com, was appointed vice president, advertising, for the recruitment, automotive, real estate, and travel categories.

The two will report to Mary Jane Patrone, senior vice president and chief advertising officer for the New England Media Group.

"Today's promotion of these two multimedia veterans is part of our ongoing reorganization of the Globe's sales team to promote our widest variety of products to advertisers," Patrone said in a statement. "Lisa and Lauren are experts in our multi-platform strategy and will excel at developing creative advertising solutions for our customers. I'm thrilled to have them on my team."

Additionally, Richard Gair was promoted to succeed DeSisto as vice president and general manager of Boston.com. Gair has been vice president of finance and operations at Boston.com since 2000.

Chacon, 40, joined the Globe in 1995 and previously was director of sales for BostonWorks. She is married to Richard Chacon, who was recently appointed the Globe's ombudsman.

DeSisto, 42, has been with Boston.com since its launch in 1995. She's held various positions at the site including vice president of strategy/marketing.
