The Contra Costa (Calif.) Times reported the sheriff's office saying that a 37-year-old newspaper carrier shot several times early yesterday morning is expected to survive.
The carrier delivered the Times and several other papers.
After gunfire was reported before dawn in Rodeo, police offers were flagged down by the victim on an interstate highway entrance ramp, where he had driven after being shot.
The victim told police he'd been shot by one of two men in a car that had pulled up next to him. An abandoned car - stolen from Rodeo -matching the suspects' was found later.
Police had no detailed descriptions of either suspect ad were asking the public for any information related to shooting.
