By: E&P Staff Thanks in part to its new exclusive marketing agreements with AOL and MSN, CareerBuilder.com posted a substantial increase in unique visitors in January, according to an analysis by Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
CareerBuilder -- co-owned by Gannett Co. Inc., Knight Ridder and Tribune Co. -- increased traffic 140% compared to the year-ago period. Monster.com was down 10% and HotJobs.com increased 91%, according to Media Metrix data.
CareerBuilder's increase, to 15.6 million visitors in January, moved the company ahead of HotJobs' 14.4 million visitors for the first time. Monster had 17.9 million unique visitors during the month. CareerBuilder also scored a 33% jump in job postings in January.
As for full-year 2003, CareerBuilder reported 48% growth in revenues, to $160 million. During the fourth quarter, revenue at the site surged 71%.
