CareerJournal Launches Redesign

Posted
By: E&P Staff The Wall Street Journal's CareerJournal.com was expected to launch a redesign Tuesday, in part to make the site more useful to users who aren't actively job hunting.

The new site "makes it much easier for busy managers to find exactly what they want quickly, whether it's a particular article, a salary table, or a job listing," Editor in Chief and General Manager Tony Lee said in a statement. "Our new look is cleaner and more user-friendly, and adopts much of its new style from the redesigned" WSJ.com.

Lee said CareerJournal.com gets over 600,000 unique visitors per month, but that only a small number are currently seeking a career change. The redesign seeks to serve this group by focusing on career management and human resources trends.

The redesign incorporates new discussion boards, improved searching, expanded salary and hiring data, and improved navigation, according to CareerJournal.com. Stronger advertising positions have also been rolled out.
