Chiefs Change at basysPrint

Posted
By: E&P Staff Friedrich Lullau, managing director of basysPrint, "decided to pursue other interest outside the company" as of December 20, the company announced. The German manufacturer supplies computer-to-plate systems that expose conventional offset printing plates with ultraviolet light.

Lullau is succeeded by Horst Steppat, who for the past two years has directed basysPrint's research and development. Steppat reports to Dick Tilanus, CEO of PunchGraphics. Its parent company, Punch International, acquired basysPrint this past summer.

Steppat gained knowledge of the CTP market in work for several prepress manufacturers. Starting in research and development, his duties expanded to consulting, marketing, and sales. While at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, Steppat headed product management for CTP and computer-to-film equipment.
