NEW YORK — CNN announced today that its All Access subscription will expand to the U.K. and Canada on Oct. 20, providing international audiences for the first time with one direct, centralized destination for CNN’s programming and journalism, including live and on-demand video programming to stream.
Subscribers in the U.K. and Canada will now be able to stream a selection of live channels from CNN’s portfolio of International and US programming, exclusive video-on-demand content, and a library of award-winning CNN Original Series and CNN Films. Subscribers will also have unlimited access to all text, audio and video content on CNN.com and the CNN app, including subscriber-only content such as exclusive distinctive reporting and feature stories. The subscription will be available across web and select mobile and connected TV apps.
With the consequential U.S. midterm elections just a few weeks away, subscribers will have an unprecedented front-row seat as races heat up, culminating on Election Day. CNN’s award-winning live political coverage and election reporting, exclusive streaming content and in-depth analysis from political experts will help audiences stay across all the breaking developments.
“CNN’s reputation as a premium, trusted name in news is unparalleled around the globe. We’re excited to provide these audiences with a simple way to access our live 24/7 channel and global reporting in one place,” said Alex MacCallum, chief operating officer, CNN Worldwide. “Following the enthusiastic reception of this offering in the U.S., expanding first to the U.K. and Canada has been our top international expansion priority as we continue to invest in and grow our direct-to-consumer business.”
The offering will be available in Canada for $7.99 CAD per month or $79.99 CAD annually, and in the U.K. for £4.99 per month or £49.99 annually. Subscribers will be able to take advantage of a special “welcome” offer at launch, with an introductory price of $59.99 CAD in Canada and £37.99 in the U.K. for the first year.
Current eligible Pay TV subscribers in Canada will be able to log in with their Pay TV credentials to access the new video offering at no additional cost. CNN Live subscribers in the U.K. will be upgraded to the All Access plan.
CNN plans to expand the All Access subscription to additional international markets in the coming year.
