Columnist Discusses the Need for Open Mideast Reporting

Posted
By: E&P Staff In a new blog post at SPJ.org, columnist Ray Hanania warned that Arab-American and Muslim-American journalists could be targeted for breaching national security just for reporting facts about the Mideast.

"We need a shield law that allows journalists to report the facts, as ugly and as politically unpopular as they may be," wrote Hanania, who does his columns for the Southwest News-Herald in Illinois, self-syndication, and the Arab Writers Group Syndicate. He's also a radio host and stand-up comedian.

His Monday blog post can be seen here.
