'Cow & Boy' Comic Moo-ving Into Newspapers

By: E&P Staff A comic starring a cow and boy will be syndicated by United Media starting Jan. 2.

Mark Leiknes' strip -- titled, appropriately enough, "Cow & Boy" -- focuses on the friendship between a farm kid named Billy and an 800-pound bovine animal.

Early clients include the Denver Rocky Mountain News, the Detroit Free Press, and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Leiknes, who has worked as a graphic designer, recently moved from Los Angeles to the Midwest with his wife and daughter.
