By: FBI officials are looking for an alleged bank thief who used a newspaper in a Southern California heist. They're calling him the "paper boy bandit."
Authorities say the "bandit" robbed a Bank of America on Garvey Avenue in Monterey Park on Thursday. He allegedly presented a newspaper to a teller and said, "I have a gun. I'm robbing you."
He then reportedly wrapped the cash the teller gave him in the newspaper, and left the bank.
Witnesses say they saw a man a short time later who closely resembled the "bandit" near the Far East Bank on East Valley Boulevard in Alhambra. Offices say he may have been casing the bank, and was reading a newspaper.
