By: E&P Staff "Baldo" -- one of the first syndicated strips featuring a Latino family living in the United States -- is turning five this month.
The Universal Press Syndicate comic is written by Hector Cantu and drawn by Carlos Castellanos. Cantu is an editor at Quick, The Dallas Morning News tabloid for younger readers. Castellanos is an illustrator living in West Palm Beach, Fla.
"Baldo" appears in more than 200 newspapers -- including the Houston Chronicle, The Miami Herald, The Philadelphia Inquirer, the San Jose Mercury News, and The Washington Post.
