Four Decades for 'Born Loser'

By: E&P Staff "The Born Loser" is marking its 40th anniversary this month.

Art Sansom created the Newspaper Enterprise Association comic in 1965. He died in 1991. "The Born Loser" is now done by Chip Sansom, who began apprenticing under his father in 1977.

The comic began with no central characters. Gradually, it began focusing on Brutus Thornapple, who's constantly ridiculed by his wife, mother-in-law, boss, and others.
