By: E&P Staff Freedom Communication's newspapers and Internet properties will install Digital Technology International's (DTI) NewsSpeed suite of editorial solutions and WebSpeed, its suite of Internet publishing solutions, DTI announced Tuesday.
The licensing agreement will be for "substantially all" of Freedom's 33 dailies and 88 weeklies in 11 states.
The agreement includes an option to license the DTI ClassSpeed advertising suite.
Freedom is already using DTI's MediaPlus Circulation solutions across the chain.
"This is an exciting project, to bring an enterprise-wide publishing solution to the Freedom Newspaper group," DTI CEO Don Oldham said. "Once the installation is complete, the newspapers will run nearly all of their publishing and circulation systems through DTI, bringing a holistic, consistent environment that opens the doors for greater sharing and innovation throughout the organization."
As the Freedom properties are brought online with the DTI system, DTI implementers will use Liquid Media to tie the new systems with existing systems until the full change to DTI is complete. Liquid Media allows newspapers to flow data into any new or existing system regardless of platform.
