By: E&P Staff Gannett announced today that Robert Collins was named senior group president of the newly formed Atlantic Coast Newspaper Group, which includes Gannett newspapers in New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, and Pennsylvania. Previously, he was president of the New Jersey Newspaper Group. He will continue to serve as president and publisher of the Asbury Park Press.
Additionally, the company appointed Thomas Donovan as president and publisher of The Journal News in Westchester County, N.Y., where he was most recently executive vice president. Donovan succeeds Gary Sherlock, 60, who announced his retirement. Sherlock was also president of the Atlantic Newspaper Group and was a member of the Gannett Newspaper Operating Committee.
