of Seattle recently acquired ImageDirect, a New York-based provider of celebrity, entertainment, and fashion photography. The small company has covered the Golden Globe Awards, Billboard Awards, the Super Bowl, and other high-profile events.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

ImageDirect President Frank Micelotta will join Getty, along with four staff photographers and some contributing photographers.

Getty provides news, sports, archival, and stock photography.
