After nearly four decades in the newsroom of The Gleaner, Editor David Dixon announced to his staff Thursday that he is retiring from the newspaper business.
“My more than 37 years here have been a great long adventure with many challenges along the way,” Dixon said in a statement. “I’ve decided it’s time for me to start a new adventure and tackle new challenges.”
He will retire as editor Dec. 31.
