By: E&P Staff General Motors is back in the Los Angeles Times.

The automaker, which has boycotted the newspaper since April by withholding corporate advertising, placed a full-page ad in Monday's edition.

Over the past four months, the Times and GM had been in talks about the automaker's concern mostly over a critical column written by Dan Neil. Brian Akre, a spokesman at GM, told the Times today that GM and the paper's executives "have respectfully agreed to disagree on some of the issues. We appreciate [the Times] ongoing willingness to listen."

Martha Goldstein, a spokeswoman for the Times, told the paper, "While we didn't see a need to run a correction, we listened to their concerns."

Prudential Equity Research estimated that GM was one of the paper's top advertisers.
