'Hell's Kitchen' Chef Ramsay Wins Libel Suit Against Newspaper

By: E&P Staff Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who stars in the Fox reality competition "Hell's Kitchen" won ?75,000 ($135,000) from the London Evening Standard (U.K.) which claimed he faked scenes for his popular British TV show "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares."

The paper printed an article alleging a restaurant was artificially made to look like a health hazard. It also said that culinary mistakes on the show were orchestrated by a deliberately incompetent chef. Ramsay disputed the charges, and has accepted the settlement along with an apology from the newspaper.

"I won't let people write anything they want to about me," said Ramsay in a statement. "We've never done anything in a cynical, fake way."
