CHICAGO – Content That Works (www.contentthatworks.com) will donate enough food to feed a needy family of four for a week this holiday season with every purchase of the company’s holiday content made during the month of September, it was announced today.
“We were shocked to learn that nearly 49 million people are at risk of hunger according to The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, and that more than 16 million of these hungry Americans are children,” said Paul A. Camp, president of Content That Works. “Nobody should have to go hungry during the holidays, especially kids. So we’re trying to do something to help.”
In addition to making a donation to feed the hungry, Content That Works has reduced the price of its five different print holiday packages for the month of September by as much as 25 percent. The company also offers a 13-week online, white-label web package called holiday365online.com that also is included in the donation program.
“Research conducted by Google shows that more than 35 percent of consumers have started making Christmas purchases already!” Camp said. “That means it is more important than ever for newspapers and other local media to help their advertisers get in front of consumers early and often. We offer six dramatically different ways to do that from now until New Years. We know it’s tough for our local media partners today so we lowered prices to make it easier for them to make money and are making the donation to help them do good in the process.”
Content That Works is working in conjunction with Feeding America (http://feedingamerica.org/) on this program. For each holiday-content purchase made from the company in September, CTW will donate cash to Feeding America, which in turn will provide food to those in need. According to Feeding America, one in six people live in a household that is struggling to put enough food on the table.
In addition to holiday365online.com, Content That Works offers Celebrations! Entertaining Friends and Family at Home for the Holidays; Holiday Decorating, this year featuring Paula Deen; Gift Guide, a traditional holiday gift section; Giftology, a guide to tech gifts like tablet computers, smart phones, video games and electronic gadgets; and Holiday Salute, honoring those serving in the military during the holiday season. All print packages are fully paginated with ad positions in place.
