Award-winning editor Vernon Loeb, who most recently worked as metro editor of the
Washington Post, has been named managing editor of the
Houston Chronicle. The announcement was made Wednesday by Hearst Newspapers President Mark Aldam and Nancy Barnes, editor and executive vice president for news at the
Chronicle.
Loeb, 57, will begin his new role in Houston on Jan. 15, and will report to Barnes.
