Huckle Publishing Names Three New Execs

By: E&P Staff Huckle Publishing Inc. in Northfield, Minn., has named three new executives. Renee Huckle Mittelstaedt has been appointed president, Ron Ensley is the new senior vice president of operations, and Sam Gett has been named vice president of development.

Mittelstaedt succeeds her father, Jim Huckle, becoming the fourth generation of her family to head a publishing company. She began her career as an advertising sales representative at the Lansing (Mich.) State Journal before becoming circulation sales manager. Since then, she has worked in her father?s company as group vice president, publisher, marketing director, and advertising manager over the last nine years.

Ensley was promoted from company vice president and publisher, a position he had held for the past four years. Out of his 36 years of industry experience, 25 were spent in general management positions at Indiana-based Kendallville Publishing. He will continue in his role as publisher of the Owatonna (Minn.) People?s Press.

Gett will also continue in his previous role as publisher of the Northfield (Minn.) News in addition to managing the company?s new media work. Prior to joining the company a year ago, Gett was publisher of the Danbury (Conn.) News Times. He worked in the Ottaway Newspaper Group for 23 years.

Huckle Publishing Inc. and its affiliate company, Mainstream Publications LLC, own two daily and 14 non-daily publications in southern Minnesota including the Owatonna People?s Press, Owatonna Area Shopper, Faribault Daily News, Faribault Area Shopper, Northfield News, Northfield Area Shopper, Lonsdale News-Review, Waseca County News, Waseca Area Shopper, Janesville Argus, Le Sueur News-Herald, St. Peter Herald, Le Center Leader, Minnesota River Valley Shopper, Kenyon Leader, and Kenyon Area Tri-County Shopper. They also own a printing plant in Northfield, Minn. and several specialty publications.
