Posted
By: E&P Staff On Dec. 28, Hearst Newspapers' Huron Daily Tribune in Bad Axe, Mich., will relocate all production and packaging operations to the plant of sister paper Midland (Mich.) Daily News. The Bad Axe facility will continue to house news, advertising sales, circulation customer service and delivery operations.

Five days later, the Daily Tribune will debut a Saturday morning edition, which will serve "the customer's demand for more timely coverage in print of important events, like local sports and breaking news from Friday evening," Hearst Newspapers Senior Vice President and Group Publisher Mark Aldam said in a statement.

Aldam added that the Midland plant offers "superior printing and packaging capabilities, with sufficient capacity to service both Hearst-owned daily newspapers and commercial printing customers."
