By: E&P Staff Press supplier KBA North America has promoted Stefan Prohaska to customer support director for its web press division, where he will oversee the staff of web technicians, visit and partner with customers, and manage the spare parts department in Dallas.
In his 23 years at KBA's web press division, Prohaska most recently was West Coast service manager. Born in Germany, he served an apprenticeship as a mechanic and earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering. Once he joined KBA, he quickly moved up the ranks from lead technician to senior service technician on a variety of installations. He has been involved in all aspects of web press installations for KBA for the commercial, directory and newspaper press lines.
Heinz Schmid, senior vice president of web presses for KBA, cited Prohaska for his "vast technical experience," excellent customer service, and "thorough understanding of the North American marketplace."
