Kerry Buys Hispanic Print Media

Posted
By: E&P Staff The race to get a chunk of change from stuffed political coffers has begun. The National Association of Hispanic Publications announced today a print media buy from the Kerry-Edwards campaign that is the earliest and most targeted for the Hispanic demographic, according to the association.

"The Kerry for President ads are without precedent at this point in the election year," said Tom Oliver, executive director of the NAHP Foundation in a statement. "We haven't seen anything quite like it in terms of a national Hispanic voter campaign targeting Hispanic print this early."

A media consultant for the Kerry campaign, Lorena Chambers Lopez, said in the release that the buy was the most cost-effective way to reach Hispanic voters in targeted states.

Hernan Guaracao, president of NAHP said in a statement, "In this highly competitive presidential campaign where every vote counts, the Kerry campaign has taken the lead in reaching Hispanic voters."

The amount spent on the media buy was not disclosed. The NAHP represents over 200 Hispanic publications representing a circ of over 10 million.
