K&M Adds, Expands, Upgrades, Modifies in Mailroom

By: E&P Staff K&M Newspaper Services Inc. in Monroe, N.Y., has been awarded a contract to expand three NP630 inserters at the Houston Chronicle, for which K&M will provide seven remanufactured four-box modules.

The company also provided folder-to-dock web-width reductions for The Journal News, White Plains, N.Y.; Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle; The Register Guard, Eugene, Ore.; Hickory (N.C.) Daily Record; Centre Daily Times, State College, Pa.; Keene (N.H.) Sentinel; Uniontown (Pa.) Newspapers; The Winchester (Va.) Star; Daily News Record, Harrisonburg, Va.; and Fayetteville (N.C.) Publishing.

In addition to relocating and upgrading inserters and providing K-Trak press conveyor for the Chicago Sun-Times, K&M supplied inserter control upgrades for Atlanta Offset and Western Newspapers, Golden Valley, Ariz.

HL 2000 Mini hopper loaders and X50 joggers were sold to the Kingsport (Tenn.) Times-News, and Naples (Fla.) Daily News.

In Mount Vernon, Wash., Skagit Valley Publishing last month put its new Titan G60 inserter into operation -- part of a turnkey folder-to-truck solution from K&M.
