Knight Ridder Digital Names New Execs

By: Knight Ridder Digital of San Jose, Calif., appointed two new executives Thursday: Tracy A. Martin as vice president and chief financial officer and Ross Settles as vice president of strategic marketing.

Martin, 40, was most recently CFO at Red Herring Communications Inc. of San Francisco, which is the same company that new Knight Ridder Digital CEO Hilary Schneider came from. Martin replaces Tally Liu, who has taken another position in Knight Ridder's corporate offices. He has nearly 20 years of finance experience, including jobs at Apple Computer and NeoMagic.

Settles, 42, was previously vice president of marketing and product development for the new-media group at Times Mirror. His position is newly created. Settles will also handle communications for Knight Ridder Digital.

In addition, CEO Schneider promoted Jamie Glenn, 28, to the newly created position of vice president of business development.
