Los Angeles Register Begins Subscription Delivery Service

Los Angeles has a new voice – a locally focused, community-building newspaper serving Los Angeles County called Los Angeles Register – that launched April 16. Starting today, the new daily newspaper is now delivered to driveways, doorsteps and offices through a subscription.

Subscriptions to the Los Angeles Register are available at an introductory rate of $19.99 for the first four weeks by visiting losangelesregister.com or calling 844-LA-REGISTER.

A daily subscription includes newspaper delivery, unlimited digital access, and four free Los Angeles Angels tickets as the first membership benefit through Register Connect. The program is free to seven-day subscribers, and includes benefits such as sports tickets, amusement park and concert tickets, aquarium passes, and many other VIP experiences.

Single copies of Los Angeles Register are also available at more than 5,500 retail and news rack locations across Los Angeles, including major grocery and convenience stores such as 7-Eleven and AM/PM, for $1.50 daily and $2 for Saturday and Sunday editions.

Los Angeles Register owners Aaron Kushner and Eric Spitz hand-delivered copies of the newspaper during the April 16 launch day celebration, as did members of the Register newsroom and marketing staff. City leaders who participated in the launch day festivities included Mayor Eric Garcetti, Los Angeles Register columnist Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the Dodgers’ legendary former manager Tommy Lasorda. Several business leaders from prominent Los Angeles landmarks and institutions also joined Los Angeles Register in celebrating its arrival, including Port of Los Angeles, City of Hope, Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, California Science Center, Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, Museum of Natural History, Griffith Observatory and Universal Studios Hollywood.

The Los Angeles Register includes 50-60 pages during the week and 80-90 on Sunday, which includes the following sections:

It also includes two pages of the Register's hallmark Opinion section each day, and four on Sundays. It will also include a unique LA Varsity Arts section beginning in May to recognize our rising high school stars and bring their joy to the community.

•Local: News and features from Los Angeles, Long Beach and surrounding communities around the county. Regular features include “My Town,” a look at neighborhoods through the eyes of notable residents, as well as daily leadership profiles from around L.A.

•Business: Business includes in-depth reporting focused on Los Angeles including on the economy, small business, technology, medicine, retail and tourism. The section includes the L.A. Biz Beat column, a full page dedicated to news about Los Angeles business movers and shakers.

•Sports: Nationally recognized complete coverage including the Dodgers, Angels, Lakers, Clippers, Kings and Ducks, along with UCLA, USC, and colleges from throughout L.A. It also includes the Register's trademark LA Varsity coverage-- prep sports coverage including stories, photos, team rankings and leaders to recognize our rising youth stars.

•Life: Throughout the week, the Los Angeles Register provides engaging lifestyle and entertainment news in the following sections:

-Monday: Show -- News from live concerts and entertainment venues.
-Tuesday: TV/Show -- What to watch and what to skip; stories about new TV shows.
-Wednesday: Food – News & reviews from local restaurants and the LA food scene.
-Thursday: Go + Do – What to get off the couch and enjoy in L.A..
-Friday: Movies. What you’ll see this weekend and talk about on Monday.
-Saturday: Show/Arts: L.A. and regional theater and arts happenings.
-Sunday: Arts. News from LA’s world-class art museums and galleries.

Los Angeles Register also includes a Wheels section on Fridays focusing on the coolest rides, events, news and people connected to the vibrant car culture in Los Angeles, and a Real Estate section covering trends and newsmakers on Sundays.

Los Angeles Register is part of a larger expansion of newspapers into Los Angeles County by Freedom Communications, which includes more than a dozen new community editions.
