Markzware Updates FlightCheck Professional

By: E&P Staff Markzware, Rijswijk, the Netherlands, released FlightCheck Professional v5.8, an update for both FlightCheck Professional and FlightCheck Designer for Macintosh and Windows platforms.

FlightCheck Professional 5.8 has expanded PDF checking based on the Ghent PDF Workgroup's PDF/X Plus specification. The workgroup has established best practice specifications for the production and preflighting of PDF files for a variety of specialist applications. FlightCheck now has built-in "Ground Controls" that validate PDFs to workgroup specifications for secure, productive digital workflows.

Customer suggestions implemented in the upgrade include better gradient and blend handling, embedded ICC profile detection for PhotoShop EPS, improved text overprint reporting for PDF, improved artificial text styling detection for PDF, and detection of Special Print Options for InDesign files.
