Markzware, Santa Ana, Calif. (http://markzware.com), has released an upgrade of its Q2ID file-conversion plug-in. Q2ID v5 converts QuarkXPress content into a new Adobe InDesign document, saving scanning, re-keying and formatting time.
This new version has full plug-in support for Adobe InDesign CS4 and CS5 and can convert documents in QuarkXPress versions 3.3 through 8. Q2ID rrecreates intricate XPress content details within InDesign. It can convert a file while including such items as page positioning, color models, fonts and styles, images, and text attributes, as well as tables, layers, blends, runarounds, linked text boxes and anchored boxes, Pantone and other color models.
The upgrade is available now for G5 and Intel-based Macs with 2 GB RAM, 1280x800 screen resolution and Mac OS 10.5 to v10.6x. Markzware said a Windows version will shop soon.
Among other suppliers, the v5 upgrade is available through Markzware's direct sales and online store. Suggested price is $199 ($99 for v3 or v4 users; $129 for v1 or v2 users).
