By: Staff Reports Fiedler Moves From Editorial Pages

Earlier this week, The Miami Herald named Tom Fiedler
executive editor. He replaces Martin Baron, who was named
executive editor of The Boston Globe.

Fiedler is currently the Herald's editorial page editor, a
position he has held since 1999. An experienced political
reporter, Fiedler covered every presidential campaign between
1972 and 1996. Most of his 30 years in journalism have been spent
at the Herald.

In making the announcement, Herald Publisher Alberto
Ibarguen said "[Fiedler's] experience in hard news makes him an
ideal leader for this newspaper as we consolidate the
journalistic gains we've made over the last years and continue
our role as South Florida's leading newspaper."
