By: E&P Staff Pacific Publishing Co. in Seattle has announced a change of ownership in its newspaper cluster and Web printing operation, according to Cribb & Associates, which brokered the deal.
Peter Bernhard, who owns community newspapers in Nevada, is taking the helm as owner and CEO of Pacific Publishing. Tom Haley, Pacific Publishing president, told employees of the change in late June. The sale was effective June 24. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"I've been involved with local newspapers for over 25 years and [I] am proud to become associated with this fine community newspaper company," Bernhard, 50, said in a statement. "Good local newspapers are a vital part of a strong community, and it's exciting to be part of a business that can make a positive contribution."
Pacific Publishing owns seven local community newspapers and operates a web press division.
